Episode 16: The Adventures of Sharkboy and Lavagirl

16 The Adventures of Sharkboy and Lavagirl

LIVE WATCH. Guys! Guys! We did this one live while recording so we could all watch together as cute little slumber party pals. We watched on HBO Go, but quick, go find this movie and get ready to start it along with us. Cause we both know every time you watch a movie now you think to yourself “why can’t the Slumber Party Movie Night podcast hosts because talking over this entire movie while I watch?”. Well, the wait is over! We will talk over this entire movie as you watch and it’s a good one to talk over, because oh my….this movie. Oh my…..

“A young boy is recruited by his imaginary friends Sharkboy and Lavagirl to help save their planet.” Starring Cayden Boyd, Taylor Lautner, Taylor Dooley, and George Lopez. See if you can find all the character that George Lopez is voicing! Oh and of course, directed by Robert Rodriguez, written by Robert Rodriguez, story by his son, Racer Rodriguez. It doesn’t stop there, he also worked on composing the music, VFX, and more! Stick around for the credits to find out and hear more from us about what our next month’s theme will be.

This week we have our filmmaker friend, Paul Bestolarides, on with Samantha and Michael.

And after you finish the movie tweet at us or comment or message us on facebook or email us and tell us: what the hell are the bubble things? Why are they laughing?? Are they sentient? Is Sharkboy simply a casual murderer? Is this movie really just the depiction of a thoughtless killer wreaking havoc on a group of citizens trying to live peacefully on Plant Drool? Do we need to start a petition for bubble people rights? Please, someone tell me. I have to know.
